Sold

Even though I’m in Brooklyn, I have no front stoop. Which means that to sell my stuff, I either have to haul it all out onto the sidewalk in front of the empty storefront next door, or invite people into my apartment to peruse. And since so much of what I’m selling is big furniture, I wasn’t so enthused about the former, but had no idea what the turnout would be for the latter. Luckily for me, buyers were not turned off by having to be buzzed up to my place, and I was able to sell all my mid-sized furniture, plus some other odds and ends I had for sale. Here’s a big shout out to Cari and David who helped me out and kept me company through the whole sale. I couldn’t have done it without you guys!

So right now, I’m sitting in the half-empty living room with the harsh overhead lights blaring because I sold both of my beautiful lamps. That’s when you know you’re either moving in or moving out — when you have to subject yourself to horrible lighting. I just sold our huge and bulky wardrobe to a nice guy who had it disassembled and out the door in under 20 minutes (thank you Ikea!), but am still doing the Craigslist thing to sell my bed, dresser, a corner shelf, and a couple of dining room chairs.

Tomorrow, I will make another trip to the Goodwill to drop off some items, sell some beloved books to the local used bookstore, and drop off some paintings to be packed for shipping. Looks like it’ll be another exciting day, aren’t you jealous?

Hahahaaha! I’ve never really thought about it that way but it is so true! I’m glad your sales are going well! And here’s to better lighting in your near future!
