I have a new toy. It is called the Nikon D40. Everything I have read so far says it is a great SLR camera for beginners who know nothing about photography. Yeah, that would be me. So, as I am wont to do when I am beginning from scratch, I am making my way through the Magic Lantern manual with the camera in my lap and exploring as I go along. Including participating in the latest Shutter Sisters’ Superhero Photo Challenge on weather (see photo above).
It might be awhile until I get the hang of it all, but I am definitely enjoying the process. Thanks to my sis (the former owner of the camera) for all her support so far — I am definitely running straight to you when I have questions!
Gone are the days when I feel limited by my point-and-shoot’s inability to take the photos I imagine. Watch out 2009, here we (me and my D40) come!
