This post is part of Gwen Bell’s Best of 2009 challenge. Although I’m a little late on this prompt, I can’t resist:
December 1 Trip. What was your best trip in 2009?
So, according to Dopplr, I have taken 29 trips so far this year (with two more still planned this month) — which I chalk up to the glories of living in the center of Europe. The shortest trips were to Hannover, mein Schatz‘s hometown, and the two longest were back to New York in September and to New Orleans in October. And although my birthday weekend in Paris was pretty dang amazing, our trip to Scotland over Easter weekend is the clear winner: A country we’d never been too + spending time with good friends we hadn’t seen in almost a year = a pretty amazing time. Thanks again to David & Debi, our awesome hosts!
I couldn’t help but smile when I read that Scotland won out (I’m not in the slightest biased!!!) As for me – I took trips to Falkland Palace a number of times with the National Trust to work in the garden – including some apple picking in October – it really is a beautiful place!
For me it would be hard to pick – Japan was just an amazing experience and fulfilled a long held dream, whilst going to my friend’s wedding in Greece, surrounded by friends, swimming in the sea, eating great food was amazing for totally different reasons.
29 trips? lucky lady!!!!
