This Time Last Year: March 2009

Okay, time to reflect a little bit on what was going on this time last year. As usual, click on the links to read the full posts.

Week Four: So, four weeks down, eight to go.  I am glad that the days are getting longer and it is not so stressful to squeeze in an evening run right after work.  Today’s long run, though, threatened to be thwarted by the weather…

Achtung Baby: Plenty of German words have made their way into the English language — kindergarten, gesundheit, zeitgeist, kitsch, kaput, poltergeist, angst — just to name a few

Tender, Juicy Obama Fingers Hit the Shelves: I stole the title of my post right from the Spiegel Online article explaining the latest frozen snack available here in Deutschland…

Week Five: I am extremely sleepy after an 8-mile run and a big pasta lunch.  Even so, I am here to say that I am pleased with Hamburg as a running city…

Dear Me: Although it’s Wednesday, the challenge for this week’s Sunday Scribbling is so perfectly timed, that I could not resist contributing (even a few days late).  My almost 32 year old self decided to write letters to who I was half a lifetime ago, and half a lifetime in the future…

I Come From…: Isn’t it funny how where you are can change how you answer where you come from?  How much more complicated this question is than it actually seems?…

While I’m Out: Today begins a whirlwind tour of Germany — 13 cities in 14 days, no less.  Some will be quick stops and others will be extended stays.   Some are quite famous (Brussels*, Munich, Weimar) and others I have never heard of (Leonberg,Rockenhausen)…

March 2009 also featured a few guest posts:

Favorite Links: Floribunda/Suzanne here.  Mandi has asked me to guest blog a post or two while she’s away, and I was thrilled to be asked!  With one of my favorite blogs quiet, I thought it might be interesting to post a few links to the sites I love…

Happy Spot: Hi everyone!  I’m Emily and you can usually find my scribblings here. When Mandi asked me to guest post I was really excited…
