A Tourist in Heidelberg

So, promptly upon arriving home from our visit to Heidelberg, I developed a nasty cold (seems I can’t catch a break these days in the training department). Anyway, this just means that I’m going to slap up a few photos here and call it a post, then go take another nap.

We stayed with friends in neighboring Eppelheim and spent a good deal of our short visit walking around Heidelberg’s Old Town — visiting the Church of the Holy Spirit and the Church of the Jesuits, touring the Castle, and riding the funicular up to Königstuhl (for amazing views of the entire area!).  I even managed to sneak in a long run — from Eppelheim towards the center of Heidelberg, along the Neckar River, then turned around and headed back.  To sum up, Heidelberg is a gorgeous little city with beautiful buildings, tons of history, lots of tourists, and plenty of restaurants and bars (that like to attach glow sticks to their cocktails).

    • It’s actually from Cafe Gecko, but we went to Regie the next evening and noticed they were also down with the glow sticks! Is that a Heidelberg thing? Or just a coincidence? :)

      How was your trip??

  1. I’m not really sure if it’s a Heidelberg thing! If so it’s relatively new because Regie only had them last time I was there – I don’t remember them before that – and I don’t remember seeing them anywhere else either (but many places I haven’t been to in several months).
