Body Integration

December 12 Body integration. This year, when did you feel the most integrated with your body? Did you have a moment where there wasn’t mind and body, but simply a cohesive YOU, alive and present? (Author: Patrick Reynolds)

I haven’t been feeling a whole lot of body integration in the last few months. In fact, my body has been dominating my mind.  But I choose to see that as more of a body awareness that has necessarily developed as my right knee and leg heal themselves and my body becomes whole again.  I’ve learned to listen to what my body is telling me.  To pay attention to pain and swelling and soreness and react to it, rather than cover it all up with medication.  I have to totally engage in thinking about how my body should naturally move when I walk, which requires all of my concentration.  I hope that in the coming weeks — with the help of physical therapy — that body and mind will gradually start to integrate again, but this time with an awareness and appreciation of how awesome the human body truly is.

This post is part of Reverb 10, a process of reflecting and manifesting during the entire month of December.

I couldn’t have said it better myself! You really captured what I’m going through as well. You are definitely my inspiration through this process. I was already admiring your attitude and then when I hurt my knee, it brought a whole new level of awareness and admiration of what you are going through.
