The good news? I successfully defended my proposal for my dissertation project yesterday afternoon. Yahoo! But now I’m pretty burnt out and am taking a few days off to recover a bit in Berlin. This morning I slept until 11am, which was obviously much needed.
Otherwise, I’ve spent the afternoon cleaning up the balcony — which is in tip-top shape, thanks to the green thumb of mein Schatz. And now that we have the summer weather to match, it couldn’t be more perfect! We plan to spend a lot of time in this little space, so I guess it’s appropriate that it’s the first area of our apartment that we’ve been able to pull into shape.
Take a look!
P.S. We get a lot of afternoon sun and would be happy for any tips regarding flowers and plants that can handle the exposure!
Wow… your balcony looks fantastic!
I can advise against getting primroses unless you are a far better gardener than I am. I have managed to pretty much kill mine despite regularly watering them like the instructions said.
I bet D’s Mom could give you some good advice and suggestions. She has a very nice garden area on her balcony.
@Riayn: Thanks, will keep that in mind!
@Mom: Yep, we’ve already enlisted her help. :)
How beautiful!! I can imagine drinking an iced coffee and reading a book from your balcony! :)
Wow, really lovely balcony. :-)
@Emily @Jen: Thanks, we’re loving it. :)
