Day at the beach

Kleiner Müggelsee

The weather has been gorgeous here in Berlin, so we bagged our (okay, my) shopping plans and spent the day at one of the many lakes on the outskirts of the city, the Kleiner Müggelsee. Within about an hour’s reach by public transportation, we had a relaxed afternoon laying in the sand and cooling off in the lake.  (And still made it back in time for the open air film in Volkspark Friederichshain, which was packed!).

We (aka mein Schatz) managed to do some more unpacking and organizing today, so that now we only have three packing boxes, three suitcases, two fold-up mattresses and one shredder piled up into the corner of our living room.  Unfortunately, I’ve mostly been feeling ill today (pretty sure it’s not e. coli/EHEC, at least), and definitely not well enough to take my train back to Bremen this evening.  Boo.  Please cross your fingers that it resolves itself on its own!

That looks lovely! We’re obviously going to have to scout out some lakes near us, because there’s no way I’m going to get in the dirty Rhein.

  2. @Emily: Thanks, I’m feeling better now, but still have no idea what was going on. Boo.
@Shoegirl: Lakes are definitely where it’s at! Somehow also reminds me of my childhood in the Pacific Northwest.
