Five Senses Friday no. 57

Autumn has definitely arrived in Northern Germany.  The temperatures are dropping, the leaves are falling, and I’ve switched to my boots and a warmer coat.  Seems pretty perfect for mid-October, in my opinion.

This past week has been pretty low-key for me as I tried to recover from my 10K race (which didn’t take more than a day) and my concurrent cold (which has chosen to hang around a little longer, however).  Here’s a quick summary of my week, five senses style…

Seeing:
* the official photos from the race. Wow, are they so not flattering. But then again, my race photos never really are.  Somehow during the actual race, I just don’t care about smiling for the photographer.  It’s not until afterwards that I wish I had made a bit more effort to ham it up for the camera. :)

Hearing:
* mein Schatz‘s name announced as he crossed the finish line of the half marathon in Bremen.

Tasting:
* lemon and honey tea (by the gallon, it feels like).

Smelling:
* freshly ground coffee beans. Yum!

Feeling:
* some nice stretches as I dive back into my 90 Days of Yoga practice.

So true about race photos!! Although, I admit to hamming it up if I see them in time. Ugh, hopefully your cold will clear up!

While the leaves are definitely changing colors and the weather has gotten chillier, we have been enjoying a nice Indian summer here!

What beautiful photos! I wish I could say the same about autumn here, but our season starts a little later around here. However, the nice rain storm last night was a nice change!

I hope you feel better soon!

    • Life in the desert must certainly take some time getting used to, but sounds like there are other seasonally markers than that indicate the changing of the seasons. Maybe there’ll be a few more rain showers in your future? :)
