Gone Girl

I know I’m way behind the times and that everyone has read Gone Girl already — but it’s not my usual type of book, so it took me awhile to jump on the bandwagon.  But since I’ve been reading some rather heavy books lately (literally and figuratively), I was searching for something entertaining that I could just breeze through.  I must say, Gone Girl more than fulfilled my expectations!

The basic plot line is that a wife goes missing and her husband is the primary suspect.  But it’s really more of a psychodrama about the games couples play with each other in relationships.  The plot twists were straight up crazy, and while I may have suspected a few of them, I definitely did not predict the end!

Gone Girl was a fast read and pulled me in from the beginning.  I really couldn’t put the book down and plowed right through it in a week’s time.  I highly recommend it if you’re looking for an entertaining read!

(Or you could just wait for the movie to come out…  I heard that Reese Witherspoon is producing and there is lots of speculation about who should play Nick and Amy Dunne.)

Have you already devoured Gone Girl?  What did you think?  Who should play the main characters in the film version?

I just read the preview on my Kindle, and while I also do not usually read thrillers, I was kind of hooked by the character development even from the very beginning :) I look forward to reading the rest!
