Just a quick post to say that I arrived this morning in Germany, and traveled about 2 hours via the fancy Inter-City Express (ICE) train from Berlin to Hannover. Hannover is mein Schatz’s hometown in the north of Germany. I was picked me up at the train station, and I was treated to a nice meal.
The weather was very warm, so we walked everywhere around the city, including the Lister Meile and Eilenriede Park (it’s more like a forest than a park). We drank a Berlinerweisse and ate delicious pretzels, and watched the Brazil-Croatia World Cup game in one of the city’s plaza.
Hannover is a beautiful and peaceful city (though maybe a little less peaceful than usual because of people from all over the world here for the World Cup), and I am enjoying myself very much and trying to practice my German every chance I get!
Tomorrow, we plan to rent bicycles to ride more around the city. Mein Schatz sends his greetings to everyone, and I will certainly try to write more later!
Tschüß!
Hope you’re having fun and drinking loads of beer! Can’t wait to see some pictures!
