I’ve only listened to In Rainbows a few times, but I have a feeling I’m going to listen to it hundreds of times in the coming months (like right now). It is settling in and making a deep impression. I’ll let you know how things turn out in the end.
The Pilates class at my gym is kicking my butt (in a good way). I’m always struggling to find ways to balance out my running and keep the rest of me in shape. Running is so much more efficient if your core is strong, and that’s what Pilates is all about. So I think I’ve found something that works and that I can commit to!
The Secret Science Club, a “free event and lecture series dedicated to exploring scientific discoveries and the public understanding of science,” meets every month in the basement of a popular local (for me) bar. Except it’s not so secret. Last week Suzanne, Dave and I stood in line for over an hour to hear a Princeton astrophysicist lecture on dark matter for an hour. Over a hundred people (and many didn’t make it in) crammed into a small space (most standing) to listen to a PowerPoint presentation on space. And it was pretty damn worth it. In my next life, I think I’ll be an astrophysicist. Especially if I get to lecture in bars and drink beer at the same time. For now, I’ll just keep checking out the Secret Science Club events. And watching Piiigs Innn Spaaaace.
