Just in case you might be under the impression that Germans are a serious, orderly folk, let me introduce you to the Schlager Parade.  As far as I can tell, the whole purpose of this parade is to drink obscene amounts of alcohol (which you can do in public, unlike in the U.S.), dress up in crazy costumes and sing along to German hits of the 70’s and 80’s.  I found the whole thing a bit insane, but everyone seemed to be having the time of their lives!
