Seeing:
* the 2008 Nobel Prize winner in medicine, Harald zur Hausen, give a lecture on the links between infectious disease and cancer. The discovery of the link between HPV and cervical cancer? Yeah, that was him.
* lots of dear friends at a double baby shower in D.C. We attended for a few minutes via Skype and it was almost as wonderful as actually being there!
Hearing:
* the local election results in Germany. The excitement is building for the national election at the end of the month!
Tasting:
* blackberries. The last berries of the season around here.
* organic potato chips. Normally I avoid even looking at them in the grocery aisle because I can devour a bag in one sitting. But I gave in on Wednesday.
Feeling:
* a massage to work out the kinks in my neck and shoulders.
* the smoothness of the mousepad on my new Mac Book Pro.
Smelling:
* the crispness in the air. Yep, summer is over.
I know how you feel about potato chips. I have to stay away from the aisle with the Kettle Sea Salt & Black Pepper Chips. They are so difficult for me to refuse.
I decided to play along this week too…

Mandi – I really like your Five Senses concept. With all the blogging and Facebooking and what-nots, it’s so easy to forget about our senses and just stop noticing the world around us. I am totally with you on the potato chips, by the way. I might try to steal that idea for one of the many days when I sit down to write a blog post and draw a complete blank.
Oh – and you get paid in Euros AND you’re a kick-ass photographer? DANG girl!
Monica: Glad you like the Five Senses stuff, I find it to be a great way to catch the little details from my week that I want to share, but am usually too tired by Friday to really get into. I caught wind of it here: http://www.stickingtothepoint.squarespace.com/ and here: http://www.abbytrysagain.typepad.com/abbytryagain/
About the rest, all I can say is: I KNOW, does it really get any better? ;)
