Another post about apartments and tests

Just a quick update to my post from last week

I found an apartment in a very cute Altbremerhaus (i.e., a row house) on the edge of a lovely part of town.  Okay, well, it’s not entirely my apartment – I’ll be sharing it with a German graduate student – but it’s sweet and cozy, and I think it’ll will be the perfect place to call home while I’m Bremen.  A major plus is that I don’t need to add any furniture/appliances to the common living spaces, and will only need to invest in some bedroom furniture.  Although, hopefully, a lot of what I’ll be bringing is the “extra” stuff that we already have in our apartment in Hamburg. I’m not totally sure how that’s going to go, but it should be an interesting process.  I sign the rental agreement next week and plan to move in sometime during the last week of August. Ch-ch-changes…

Anyway, luckily my apartment search was successful and I’ve been able to concentrate on getting myself ready for the C1 test. And with Mein Schatz being on the road for the last week or so, I’ve been in a total test-preparation bubble.  On the one hand, it’s awesome, because I can go to class in the mornings and then take all the time I need in the afternoons and evenings to work through practice exercises and drill my vocabulary without any distractions.  On the other hand, I’m totally losing my ability to keep this exam in perspective.  I occasionally need to remind myself that this is not a life or death situation, and that as long as I’m prepared and stay calm, I can totally rock it.

I wish I had more to share with you, but right now, this is my life.  I promise to reemerge as a normal person by the end of next week!
