Day 1 : Something you hate about yourself

Hate is such a strong word, which is maybe kind of the point. But I’m not into hating myself, so let’s focus on something I wish I could change.

I wish I could relax about the details, especially when they don’t matter.  There is so much in life that demands attention, and it’s a skill to recognize when and where to let the unimportant stuff go.  It doesn’t have to matter that the curtains aren’t tied back exactly the way I like them.  It doesn’t have to matter whether my day runs exactly according to plan or not.  Sometimes being with the people you love is the most important contribution you can make to the world that day. And sometimes taking a different path than planned will get you exactly where you need to go.

I wish this stuff came more naturally to me, but it’s a struggle.  And so these are the thoughts that I aim to hold in my head as often as I can.
