Why am I seemingly joining the ranks here?  Well, for my Twelve by 2012 list, I wanted a little boost to get me out of the blahs and doldrums of too much work.  I spend most of my days at a casual, lefty university or at the gym, neither of which are good excuses for red lipstick, so I decided I would create my own excuse!  The whole point for me is just to have some fun, and add a little pop to everyday life.

However, I didn’t want to invest in anything too pricey until I figured out what I was doing, so I’ve started off with the inexpensive Classic Red from Alterra.  After wearing it almost daily, I have figured out that it is not the color for me — just a tad too orangey.  Plus, since I’m constantly drinking water all day long, it only lasts like 5 minutes before it disappears.

Ah well, the search for the perfect red will continue.  But I have to say that so far the process has been entertaining, and is certainly an easy way to add a little whimsy to your day.
