I’ve spent a relaxed week working from home in Berlin. Although having “home office” (as they like to say here in Germany) doesn’t decrease how much I have to accomplish, I sure do enjoy those “extra” 8+ hours that I would usually spend commuting round-trip between Berlin and Bremen. Like by going out to dinner, or doing some reading, or going out for an extra run. It’s also wonderful to just be able to relax and not try to squeeze every extra ounce of fun out of the weekend with mein Schatz. Ahh, space and time to breathe.
Anyway, on with the Five Senses…
Seeing:
* Jiro Dreams of Sushi, a fantastic documentary about an 85-year-old sushi master in Tokyo. Beautifully filmed, and gorgeous sushi too!
Hearing:
* classical music in the mornings.
Tasting:
* vanilla-flavored Gu, my favorite kind.
Smelling:
* orange and ginger tea.
Feeling:
* sopping wet running shoes after deciding to go for a run in the rain.
How has your week been? Any exciting plans for the weekend? We finally get to see Radiohead on Saturday night, after our original July show date got postponed due to the tragic accident during their Toronto show. We saw them in 2008 here in Berlin and it was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to (despite the rain). Can’t wait for this one! (And if we’re not too tired, we’re going to try to get up early enough to catch the Berlin Marathon on Sunday morning too.)
