Five Senses Friday no. 58

Pumpkins!
Pumpkins!

It’s pumpkin season!  When I first moved to Germany, I remember having a hard time trying to locate a pumpkin so that I could make a Thanksgiving pumpkin pie.  But now look at this crazy pumpkin display at my local super market — every kind of pumpkin you could wish for!  I’ve even seen lots of pumpkins for Halloween carving, which is kind of an unusual thing in these parts.  Feels a little bit like home. :)

Other than that, here’s what else has been going on this week…

Seeing:
* my bank account dwindle after purchasing tickets to fly back to Seattle in February.

Hearing:
* lots of similarities between spoken Norwegian and German.

Tasting:
* disinfectant mouthwash at the dentist’s office. I’m happy to report that all is well with my teeth, and I’m especially thankful the experience was rather pleasant, as opposed to Karla of Tales of a Texpatriate‘s nightmare dentist visit!

Smelling:
* popcorn!

Feeling:
* the unseasonally warm sun on my skin.

That’s it from me for now — but you can check out more Five Senses over at Travel With Emily too!  How as your week been?
