Despite the fact the the Bremen Freimarkt has been around for nearly 1000 years, and holds the claim to being the oldest fair in Germany, I had never visited until this past week. Held every October since the year 1035, today the Freimarkt is a carnival full of rides and games and food. (I was seriously tempted to eat some Schmalzkuchen while I was there, but decided it might be a sacrilege to indulge before Christmas Market season begins.)
Have you been to the Freimarkt before? Do you like going to the local fair where you live?

That ride look AWESOME!
I’m too much of a wimp to try it out, but I heard plenty of people screaming on it, so it must be great!
Unless they were scared for their lives…?!?!?!
We have the Dult over here in Regensburg; twice a year. I’m not much of a ride-goer though. I do like coasters, but I prefer theme park level coasters to traveling festival/hastily-assembled-by-carnies coasters.
I mostly go to the fests for food and drink. Who doesn’t love a good dish of Poffertjes?
I never really thought about the hastily-assembled aspect, but you’ve got a point there. I also realized that I was far more pulled in by the food offerings than by the rides — delicious!
