32 Things: Update One

It feels like I wrote my 32 Things list just yesterday, but I guess enough time has passed to fill you in on a few updates!

2. Start planning a trek of Kilimanjaro. Mein Schatz bought me a book all about trekking Kili, so I think that means the planning has officially begun!

4. Pass either the TestDaF or Zertifikat C1 in the Fall. With everything going on right now, I’m postponing testing my German skills until Winter.  I don’t want to waste all that money if I don’t think I’m going to be in tip-top shape for the exam.

13. Become a full-fledged Mac user. I’m writing this post from my very cute 13″ Mac Book Pro.  There are still a couple programs that I need that only run on Windows, and I am not completely happy with the photo editing that comes with the Mac.  So there is still some fine tuning to do, but so far I’m loving it.

17. Make an appointment for my first doctor’s visit in Germany. Appointment made!  I was worried about getting in to see the doctor before one of my American prescriptions ran out.  But even though the doctor was booked out for several weeks, the receptionist told me that I could get a new prescription ahead of my scheduled appointment.  I couldn’t believe my ears, I asked her three times to repeat herself.  I was convinced I had misunderstood.  But indeed, all I needed to do was drop by (without an appointment, mind you) and show them my old prescription.  I was out the door within 15 minutes with my new prescription — three weeks ahead of my scheduled appointment with the doc.  Top that.

18. Buy new running shoes next time I am in the U.S. I made a visit to Jack Rabbit Sports and after testing out lots of shoes, ended up with a purple and silver pair of Asics.  They’re the first pair of running shoes I’ve had that are semi-cute (for running shoes, I mean).  I guess this means I should step up my game a little bit now, huh?

20. Attend the Expat Bloggers in Germany meet-up in Munich in September. Check!  Read about it over here.

28. Speaking of those little nephews, hook them up with some FC  St. Pauli shirts. Yep, made sure those shirts went home with my Mom after her visit.
