June is my month of a million fun reasons to throw a party:
I turn 34! Wow, I guess that officially slides me into the mid-thirties age category. Early-thirties somehow sounded better, but I’ll make it work.
This blog turns 6! For old time’s sake, check out my first (ultra short) post from 2005 where I rant against the proposal to stick a stadium on Manhattan’s West Side. Ahh, those were the days.
Mein Schatz and I celebrate 7 (count ’em, seven) years together! This may just blow my mind.
My 3rd Germanniversary! Yes, folks, three years ago this month, I officially made the move from New York to Germany. Some days I feel totally integrated and at home here, and other days I feel like I just got off the boat. I guess that’s what the ride is all about, right?
What are you celebrating this month? The solstice? The beginning of summer? Do tell!
Congrats on all the milestones!
And oh my gosh, I LOVE your term “Germanniversary”! Haha!
I’m celebrating the fact that I’m going home for a visit on June 26th, and then my brother’s wedding on July 9th! :)
Congratulations on the birthday celebration — and all the rest. :)
Wow! What a lot to celebrate this month!!! Congrats on your birthday, 7 years AND 3 years in Germany!!!! YAY!
So many things to celebrate!! Congrats!! I love Germanniversary!!
@Sarah: Hope you have a great time back in the US!
@Adam @Debi @Emily: Thanks!
Congrats on all of those accomplishments. I love the word Germanniversary. Happy Birthday as well.
Congrats on all the milestones. Believe me, mid-thirties is nothing to stress about. June doesn’t have many special days for us, but there’s always something to celebrate.
@Andrew: Thanks, it’s such a fitting word, isn’t it?
@German Gems: I definitely agree on all points!
