It won’t surprise most of you, but my life these days is an extremely precarious balance between: trying to finish my dissertation by mid-winter, getting ready for two upcoming conference presentations, preparing to give up the Bremen apartment and live full-time in Berlin, getting myself in PR-shape for 5K and 10K races in the early fall, maintaining this blog, plus trying to enjoy life too (of course!).
While I’m doing my best to work as efficiently and productively as possible so that I don’t burn out, something has got to give. So Susannah‘s August Break couldn’t be more perfectly timed.
The August Break is all about stepping away from writing blog posts for a month, and instead using August to take a breather — but still staying connected via photography. My plan is to take photos every day (either with my phone or my DSLR), using the daily photo prompts if I need inspiration. Most likely, I’ll be sharing those pics here every few days or so — sometimes with words, but mostly not. Feel free to follow the daily photos over on my Instagram and Flickr accounts too.
That’s all there is to it! I’ll be back to my regular blogging ways come September. Also: join in, if you’d like — there are over 300 bloggers (and counting) taking part!
Wow, sounds like you’ve got a lot on! I’m playing along too, looking forward to seeing your images. Am following you along on instagram as that’s where I’ll mainly be in August. See you there. :)
I think everyone can identify with the feeling of being a bit overwhelmed, so I’m glad to be able to take a collective break with you all. :) Looking forward to seeing you on Instagram!
Time does seem to be an especially precious commodity lately. What a great idea! I’m going to try and play along as well!
Great! I am sure you, of all people right now, definitely deserve an August Break!
