Four

I’ve seen a lot of blogs with this particular “me-me” post. Although I’m not particularly found of me-me’s (as in, why should you assume anyone else besides yourself would find this stuff interesting?), this one actually seems pretty cool. Plus it’s my blog and I can post whatever I want.

4 jobs I’ve had

  • cleaned bathrooms for a semester in college (talk about humbling)
  • office manager for a holistic eye doctor’s office (where do you think I scored all my great glasses?)
  • graduate research assistant for an international maternal mortality prevention program
  • program evaluator for a social service agency serving victims of violence in NYC

4 places I’ve lived

  • Athens, Greece & Singapore (until I was 3)
  • Seattle (my hometown)
  • Kampala, Uganda (for a year after college)
  • New York City (since 2002)

4 favorite TV shows

  • uh, I don’t have a tv
  • but when I go to Daniel’s house, I can’t stop watching Law & Order

4 places I’ve been on vacation

  • Peru (trekked the Inca Trail over Christmas)
  • Rwanda, Tanzania, & Kenya (made lots of overland trips to neighboring countries when I lived in Uganda)
  • Germany & Greece (for a week each in college)
  • Arizona (my first trip to the desert)

4 favorite foods

  • chicken pad thai (for 9 meals out of 10 at Thai restaurants — I know I should expand my horizons, but I love it so!)
  • Pirate’s Booty (I’ve been known to scarf down a bag in one sitting)
  • chicken tikka masala
  • my Mom’s homemade pastis (if you have roots in Western Montana, you know what I’m talking about)

4 sites I visit daily

4 places I’d rather be (plus 1 bonus)

  • relaxing in my own spacious & quaint Brooklyn brownstone
  • on the Seattle waterfront drinking coffee from Monorail Espresso
  • travelling just about anywhere, but especially India, Nepal and Tibet
  • out of debt
  • in a country which values a woman’s right to health and well-being
