Mott Street, NYC

Yesterday, I shamelessly promoted all my roommate’s hard work on the NYC Department of Health’s Community Health Profiles. Today, I am shamelessly promoting my photograph that ended up on the cover of the Lower East Side’s Community Health Profile. There was a mini photo contest of sorts for favorite photos of New York neighborhoods, and the chosen photographs were put on the covers of the profiles. Wouldn’t you know it that my fifteen minutes of “fame” would be spent on the Department of Health?

In other news, I’ve had to make some changes to the blog to make it less spambot friendly. The best one is downloading Bad Behavior. And the worst one requires everyone’s comments to be approved by me before they are posted — but I’ve tried to lessen the blow by setting it up so that once I’ve approved you, you’re always approved. Let’s see if this works, alright?

Also, as you can tell from this post, I’m experimenting with how larger photographs look in the layout of my blog. I’m inclined to think that they’re too overpowering compared to the smaller ones I normally use. But on the other hand, the details on the small photos can be hard to see. What do you think?

I also like the idea that I’ve seen on other blogs of posting a picture with every post even if it’s not related to the post. I certainly have enough photos to do that, so I’m thinking about it…

Congrats on the photo! I’m a big fan of photos in blogs, although I like it best when they’re related to the post (or standing alone in a post of their own). As for the size, I personally like bigger photos, although I think you’re right about the small size photos suiting your blog style. (Not being super helpful, am I?)

We have to approve our comments too. Stupid spammers!
