A lot would be an understatement. But in terms of my 30 Things to Do Before I Turn 31 list, here’s what I think I can manage:
1. Walk the length of 5th Avenue in Brooklyn from Flatbush Avenue to Coney Island.
The weather is turning beautiful and I’ll be leaving the neighborhood in a couple months, so there’s no excuses left!
5. Read A Russian Diary by Anna Politkovskaya.
I just picked it up from the library the other day, so I should be able to cross it off my list soon.
8. Go to the optometrist’s office and update my prescription.
Scheduled an appointment for my trip to Seattle for Mother’s Day. Yes, I still see a Seattle doctor even though I’ve been in New York for six years. What can I say? She’s got stylin’ glasses frames and I’m very particular (see here and here). Plus, I worked for her for a couple years before leaving the west coast, so I am a wee bit biased.
14. Have a professional massage every other month.
Um, not exactly every other month, but much more often than I ever have in my life! One in Mexico in February and one in Brooklyn in March. Not bad, eh?
23. Trek out to Woodside, Queens to get a taste of
the restaurant that everyone says has the best Thai food in NYC.I must visit before I leave New York! Suzanne, are you in?
26. Build up enough frequent flyer miles for another free ticket.
See previously mentioned trip home for Mother’s Day. Yay!
And what about the rest, you ask? Well, that stuff might just have to wait for my list of 31 things.
well done! you’ve accomplished a great deal… i think i need to put a similar list together too – 30 by 30? 30 things to do before i turn 30?
