I just got back from a short, cold run. Since I worked from home today, I was able to sneak in a run while it was still light outside. I can do running in the cold, but the combination of cold and dark is really hard for me to take. Which is why you haven’t heard me make a peep about running lately.
But I will have to find a solution soon enough — either trick myself into running in the morning or find a pleasant well-lit path to run in the darkness after work — because I am all signed up for a Hannover half-marathon at the beginning of May. If I can just keep it together for another month or two, the days will be getting longer pretty quickly up here,* just in time to start my training mid-February.
In any case, I will be blogging while I train to fill you in on the details. C’mon, my first race in another country — you won’t want to miss out!
* Can’t wait for a summer solstice where the sun rises at 4:50am and sets at 9:53pm!
