Virtual decorating

Furnishing, decorating, and setting up our apartment is going (very) very slow.  We’ve hosted a few guests since we’ve moved in, and unfortunately, they’ve been subjected to the remaining unpacked boxes and random bits still stacked in corners without a home.  We’re making progress for sure, but we haven’t hung anything on the walls yet, and we’re still slowly searching for some key antique pieces of furniture.  Patience, however, is not my cup of tea when it comes to setting up a home.

So Pinterest has been my creative outlet over the last months, soothing some of my impatience and letting me gather my ideas and virtually decorate.  I’ve collected a whole lot of inspiration, and I just discovered that I can easily embed some of my finds here.

I love that I can collect these ideas and let myself be inspired by all the beautiful colors, textures, and patterns out there!

Where do you seek out your design inspiration?

  1. OMG! I just signed up for Pinterest this weekend and I am already totally obsessed with it!!!! Your finds are beautiful and inspirational. I just clicked follow on your site.

I especially like the one you have with the old photos in glass bottles. Pretty neat! We have some old prints we picked up from various thrift stores or flea markets, and that’d be a cool thing to do with them!

  2. @Sarah: Yay! Pinterest is so addicting, but it does keep me from shopping when I don’t need to, and is full of great DIY ideas too. If you end up doing the bottle + photos, make sure to share the results!

Ooooh, I really like the old photos in the old bottles. Very interesting idea. My inspiration come from all kinds of places, but mostly from magazines and places I have actually been in.
