A Weekend in Weimar

Weimar
Weimar Rathaus (2009)

I’m off this weekend to one of my favorite German cities ever to celebrate a friend’s wedding!  So much cultural and artistic history going on in Weimar — once the home of Goethe, Schiller, Nietzsche, Liszt, Kandinksky, Klee, and the list goes on and on.  I just love that mix of classical German culture and the Bauhaus movement all in one place.

This way to the director's office.

I was able to use my points through the Deutsche Bahn’s frequent traveler program to buy my train tickets, and it will be the first time that I try out lodging through airbnb.com.  Can’t wait!  I’m also looking forward to celebrating with friends (of course), running once (or twice) through (what I call) Goethe’s Park, and enjoying the warm, sunny summer weekend!

Do you have any adventures planned for the weekend?
